Ability: Beginner Intermediate Advanced

Expertise: Specialty Workshops

Painted photographs have a rich history, and the American Ivorytype is no exception. Originally created to mimic the hand-painted ivory miniature, the American Ivorytype uses salted paper prints, glass, paint, and encaustic to create an object of delicate beauty. Students will make their own salt prints, face mount them to glass and create a final bound object.
