Making Art Work in the Real World / Being An Artist in Everyday Life

Ages: 21 - No Limit

Ability: All

Expertise: Drawing, VAS Lecture

Bill Amundson will lead participants through the potential for being creative in all life situations, no matter how far-fetched or banal. Topics will include overcoming impediments to creating on a daily basis, inventing from our direct environment, engaging the neighborhood and community expressively and utilizing humor to overcome the daily stigmas associated with living the "artistic life." Through numerous presentations and demonstrations, Bill will expound on his methods and techniques and encourage workshop attendees to develop their own, unique take and approach.

We will address these issues through diverse exercises each day in a variety of media, with the emphasis primarily on drawing and writing materials, including pencil, colored pencil and marker. The workshop is open to all skill levels, the only prerequisite being a desire to embrace the creative challenges inherent in our absurd, complex, frustrating and fascinating world. And make them work for YOU.
