Color Study with the Figure: An Incamminati Approach

Ages: 18 - No Limit

Ability: All

Expertise: Painting, Art and Color Theory

In this workshop, students will be introduced to the Studio Incamminati approach to learning color as developed by Nelson Shanks from his studies under Henry Hensche. By painting under a variety of different light conditions (artificial, colored gels, natural light) and doing rapid color scanning exercises, students will begin to hone their skills in seeing color as a series of relationships. Students will also learn to differentiate between the local color of model, and the color of the light, so that ultimately the subject of the painting becomes the light itself. This is an oil painting workshop.
