Color and the Unconventional Portrait

This workshop is experimental in nature and focuses on learning about color theory and different color palettes. Using the portrait as the subject of these color experiments, students will explore different color palettes including analogous, monochromatic, discordant and complimentary colors. Each week focuses on a different color palette, and students will use their knowledge of color theory to create lively and unconventional portraits in oil paint.

Prerequisites 
All students should have prior knowledge of portrait drawing and a solid foundation in rendering the face as this workshop does focus on color theory and color palettes verses how to paint a portrait
