Plein Air Painting Basics
Ages: 18 - No Limit
Ability: Beginner Intermediate
This Plein Air course is designed to give the basic information to help students develop their ability to produce field studies. This workshop includes instructor lecture in the approaches and methods used by other painters in history with relevant problem solving on their current pieces. This is a hands-on workshop that encourages students to use these studies as a resource for finished studio work. Difficult challenges of working on location can be eliminated with instruction from Molly Davis, who has worked in the field for over 40 years.
Oil, watercolor or acrylic can be used in this workshop. Students interested in only watercolor, Watercolor Summer Sketchbook workshop is recommended if they want more medium experience.
Some knowledge of drawing and working on location is helpful.
